Hi everyone! Not sure if you knew, but MTV in Italy had been showing a new show called Ginnaste (Gymnast) which ended recently with the World Championships. Some awesome gym fans in Italy have been uploading the episodes and adding English subtitles, so we English speakers/non Italian speakers can see too! So far they have only uploaded 9 of the episodes (they’re about 20 min each) but apparently there is like 40 of them so there’s plenty to come! I linked to Episode 1 Part 1 - if you click on the video it should take you to Youtube and you can search ‘Ginnaste Episode X Part X’ and insert the number instead of the X. Some people have criticized that there isn’t enough gymnastics in the show but, let’s be realistic - this is a reality show on MTV. To me, it’s like an extended version of True Life: I’m A Gymnast! I’m thrilled that they show the girls in the gym as well as what they do outside of the gym - and it definitely adds the commercial appeal that a show on MTV needs to be successful. Anyways, hope you guys like! I’m eagerly anticipating more episodes to watch :)
Just ridiculously nice! This routine was perfect (aside from the slight helicopter legs in the dismount), seriously no wobbles! Lovely. Can’t wait to see her comeback!

I love this little trickster! She even did that glance to the side that she also did at Sydney 2000. In Sydney I thought she was looking to the coach (she fell) but now that I’ve seen her do it twice, I wonder if she wasn’t checking time or something? Anyways, she’s great! 9.6 seems low to me! Also - those leotards are hideous! I’ve never been a fan of white bodies on the leo, because usually they’re a bit see-through, but the polka dots are so 90s and just awful, haha!

I think you mean 2nd row, you’re def right about Ohashi and Ross but I’m certain that’s Polina Schennikova in the middle! I remember her wearing that pink leo this summer!

In the midst of all the VISA’s hype, believe it or not I actually managed to watch a non-USA gymnast do some gymnastics! Here’s one of my favorite Ukrainians Yana Demyanchuk on beam at the recent Universiade meet. I first saw Yana at the 2009 WOGA Classic when she was just a teeny little thing, along with Nataliya Kononenko and Yevheniya Cherniy (who then had Jordyn Wieber’s new fx music…so THERE, John Geddert, Mr. “I’ve Never Heard This Music Before!”). OK anyways….this is a pretty awesome routine! Hope you enjoy!
