I’ve implemented Design #3 - Blue option!
So everyone remembers, this is what Design #2 (grey/white) looked like:

And of course, Design #1 is the original rainbowy design I’ve always had. I’ll put that one up again at the end so you all can remember what it looks like!
Thanks again for the input :)
So, as the new year approaches, I’ve been thinking about a few of my favorite gymnastics things from 2010. Personally, I’m thrilled with the progress I’m making in the gym, although my upcoming wrist surgery will be a dampener on that, only temporarily though! Making my first kip was awesome, and I also liked getting my grips and a new leotard :) I’m looking forward to 2011, which holds my first gymnastics meet, a competition leotard(!!!!), and hopefully lots of new skills!
On the NCAA, Optionals, and International fronts, there were some great times too! Covering the Oklahoma gymnastics meets this year was definitely a really fun experience, and helped me improve my interviewing capabilities. It also opened my eyes to the fact that I say “wow”, “great”, “awesome” and “amazing” a LOT while filming routines! Flying to Minnesota with Anne to film the Northern Lights Classic for Gymnastike was a tiring yet awesome experience, we got to see two full days of Level 8, 9, and 10 gymnastics competition, including one Perfect 10 vault!
Worlds 2010 was definitely a thing to be thankful for! Lots of exciting gymnastics, big tricks, and Russia’s first World Championship win since they’ve been a country! We got to see the triumphant return of Alicia Sacramone, which I loved, Aliya Mustafina announcing to the world “I’m here!”, Lauren Mitchell finally being rewarded for all her hard work, and Jonathan Horton finally stringing together 6 solid routines and bringing home a bronze All-Around medal!
So now you’ve heard my (brief) thoughts on 2010 - what were a few of YOUR favorite things?
Merry Christmas to all of my readers! Thanks for making the first few months of my blog very nice :) Happy Holidays!
Hi Lisa!
Personally I’m not sure about any gyms in San Diego that have adult gym, since I live in Texas, but I’m sure there is somewhere to do it! I would recommend googling “Adult gymnastics class San Diego” or something like that, something is bound to pop up!
Do any of my readers know of a gym in San Diego that offers adult gym classes or open gym? Click ‘Ask Me’ on the right and you can put it in a little message to me! Thanks guys!
Hey readers!
So I’ve been thinking lately about switching up the blog design. Not that I don’t love this rainbowy thing (I do. I like rainbows!), I just feel like switching it up for a while! But I am indecisive, and so I decided to reach out to you guys, who see this background more than I do, for your opinions!
Over the next few days, I’ll be putting up four different designs. One, will naturally be the one I’ve always had (rainbow), two will be a white and grey theme, third will be a blue theme, and finally a black and grey theme, which I *think* makes commenting easier!
I’ve posted a poll on the right, where you can choose your favorite design. Please wait until I’ve posted all the options (remember, four!) to vote, or I’ll have to do something mean, like post a video of only flicky-wrists or butt-shelf poses on beam!
Thanks everyone!! :)
Gonna try out some new layouts on the blog in the coming days so if you visit and it looks funky…..don’t be scared :) I’m experimenting!
I have a photo of me with Laura Svilpaite from 2008 around here somewhere….I’ll dig it out and post it soon for a laugh :) She was TINY!!
Who, out of all the currently active gymnasts, would you like to see interviewed? It can be someone very famous, such as Alicia Sacramone, or a younger athlete, like a Junior! So, who do you think?
Anne from Gymnastike is currently in Baltimore, Maryland filming one of the Northeast’s biggest meets, Christmas On The Chesapeake, hosted by Docksiders Gymnastics. Some of the big gyms in the region, like Parkette’s, Excalibur, and Hills are there! Everyone should go on over and check out Anne’s awesome coverage, I think she is doing this meet solo, a big undertaking! Go Anne Go!!
Click HERE to see the Level 10 Coverage. There is also Level 9 coverage, and probably more to come, just click around once you’re on the page to see everything! :)
I’m really looking forward to seeing the routines from the Toyota International meet in Japan this weekend! There are some big names on both sides, including Mustafina, Mitchell, and Mr. Yurchenko Triple himself - Uchimura, so it should be good! Click ‘Read more’for all the gymnasts competing!
Such a shame, Zam is great! I am, however, looking forward to seeing how this changes the lineups Ms Val puts out! They have so many people on that roster….maybe Allison Taylor can finally break into the lineups? Sorry Zam….hope it heals quickly :)
SHE TORE HER ACHILLES AND WILL HAVE TO MISS 2011.
I’m pretty sure I’m more devastated than she is….
I’m sure anyone who has had their first pair of grips will sympathize with me…breaking them in is an awkward transition period! #ARGH
