Elisabetta Preziosa, the graceful Italian! There really should be some sort of award for innovative use of leaps, spins, and flexibility! I’d nominate her!
Side note, there should also be an awesome mount award, Italian gymnasts would probably make up most of the nominees with all their planches!

Check out this cool behind the scenes video of the USA Gymnastics teams’ trip to the 2010 Rotterdam World Championships. Click the title to go to the video, because AT&T is silly and I can’t embed it :(
Kaisa Chirinos is a 16 year old gymnast from Finland. I chose to feature this floor routine by her, from the 2010 World Championships, to thank my viewer(s?) in Helsinki and Tampere, Finland! Below is a small bit of Finnish I got using Google translate, it came out a little wonky I think but anyways, I tried! :)
Hei! Olen niin onnellinen, että olet käsittelyssä minun verkkosivuilla! Toivottavasti nautitte siitä! Tässä on video suomalainen voimistelija, Kaisa Chirinos!

Venezuela’s Jessica Lopez has continued to add difficulty to her routines and improve her execution pretty steadily since her graduation from the University of Denver. Her dedication to the sport is really impressive, and I’m always happy to see her do well at international competitions. This is a really lovely routine from the All Around competition at the recent World Championships, where Jessica finished 10th.
Here is Eleftherios Kosmidis’ impressive floor routine from the Event Finals of the 2010 World Championships. Perhaps inspired by the clean execution and stuck landings of Greece’s other great floorworker Ioannis Melissanidis, Eleftherios stuck every landing except one and had beautiful form in all of his tumbles. He scored a 15.70 (6.6 D score) but his 9.10 execution score seems a bit low to me. The stick on his final pass, a full in double back, was especially impressive. What a way to finish the routine!
Here is Aliya Mustafina and Ksenia Semenova celebrating after Aliya’s AA win! Not exactly sure who to credit here, I found this on Aunt Joyce’s Ice Cream Stand but he didn’t link a credit. So whoevers photo this is, here is your credit! A wonderful shot :) I love happiness shots!
Vanessa Ferrari (ITA) only placed 6th in the Floor Event Final, but she must have had one of the highest execution scores based on her stuck landings. Yes, there were multiple! I also very much like her music. A great routine from Vanessa!
Finally got to watch the NBC coverage of the women’s all-around competition from the 2010 World Championships! Click READ MORE for all my observations!
