2011 Texas Prime - Legendz Classic

I just got home from the Legendz Classic portion of the 2011 Texas Prime Meet, and it was great! A very fun, high energy, yet relaxed meet! They definitely do a terrific job of finding great role models for the Legendz and they in turn keep the girls a little more relaxed, which makes for a great meet!

This year’s Legendz were 2004 Olympic silver medalists Mohini Bhardwaj and Courtney McCool, and 1996 Olympian John Macready. Courtney was definitely the most high energy of the three, but John had us laughing constantly. Chris Burdette (Texas Dreams co-owner) also had the audience rolling with his hilarious introductions before each athlete had her turn!

The videos are uploading to gymnastike as I type! Well, about 75% of them anyways! The rest are on another camera and it’s almost 3 am and I am WAY too tired to deal with it, so they’ll be put up as soon as I get off Starbucks (my other job) tomorrow afternoon!

HERE is a link to the Legendz Classic coverage, including routines, interviews with the Legendz and athletes, and photos.

HERE is a link to the Level 10 session from Friday, which was one of the qualifying sessions to the Legendz Classic. The other qualifier was a Level 9 session on Friday morning that I wasn’t able to go to :(

Highlight gymnasts to check out: Annabelle Hovater (World Class, VA), Lloimincia Hall (Texas Dreams), Wynne Levy (Central Bucks), Cassidy Keelen (Texas Dreams), and Kaitlyn Ayrton (Elite Champion, TX), whose name may or may not be spelled differently. I was given two spellings of it! If anyone knows, leave a comment! Loved Annabelle, Kaitlyn, and Lloimincia’s floor routines, and Wynne had a really cool vault, a tucked Cuervo I think it is? To be honest, all the gymnasts were great! You can’t go wrong watching a single one of these routines!
